The U.S. Department of Energy, Idaho Operations Office (DOE-ID),intends toaward a firm-fixed price, sole-source contract under FAR Part 12 withCanberraIndustries, Inc., 800 Research Pkwy, Meriden, CT 06450-7169, for thefollowing:
Eight (8) Digital Signal Analyzers, one (1) Canberra Genie 2000 MultipleInputRight to Copy Software License, one (1) Computer and Printer with installed
software, and installation of equipment services.
The Radiological and Environmental Sciences Laboratory (RESL), a government
owned and operated facility, currently uses High Purity Germanium (HPGe)detectors for verifying gamma emitting testing materials made for theRadiobioassay Department of Energy Laboratory Accreditation Program(DOELAP)and the Department of Energy Mixed Analyte Performance Evaluation Program(MAPEP). The HPGe system currently operates under a VMS/network and future
support, if any, is limited. RESL desires to minimize the programmaticrisk ofloosing gamma spectroscopy capabilities by transitioning to aWindows/networkbased system.
THIS NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES. However, any firmthatbelieves it can meet the requirements may give written notification priortothe response due date. Responses are required to be submitted before July24,2008, 5:00 p.m. ET. Responses shall be submitted via e-mail tominorkl@id.doe.gov and supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficientdetail to demonstrate the ability to perform the requirements listed.Responsesreceived will be evaluated; however, a determination by the Government nottocompete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice issolelywithin the discretion of the Government. Telephone requests or inquireswillnot be accepted.
