PHE are proposing to install an X-ray irradiator to inactivate bacteria or viruses in a fashion that retains native or close-to-native biological activity.
The Equipment will be installed within the existing main building at PHE Porton. This location within the building is in a secure Department and as such all operations will be the subject of strict control regarding access and egress. The Tenderer's attention is drawn to the fact that other areas of the building adjacent to those in which the equipment will be installed will remain occupied. In many of these areas, sensitive work will be in progress. It is therefore imperative that noise and disturbance generally are kept to an absolute minimum. Access to the site is also restricted with limited space for materials storage and delivery traffic. Please refer to the project details and constraints within the Goods Information for further information.
The tender should note that the project will incorporate a design review to demonstrate compliance with the User Requirement Specification.
