Short description:
Gallium-68 PET/CT imaging is a new diagnostic tool used for the detection and localisation of neuroendocrine tumours and prostate cancers using a number of Gallium-68 labelled radiopharmaceuticals. University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust (UHCW) are seeking to set-up and start a Gallium-68 (Ga-68) service within an established Nuclear Medicine Department. The department operates under an MHRA Manufacturer’s Specials Licence. The existing cleanroom facility within the Nuclear Medicine Radiopharmacy will be modified to include a shielded hot cell/isolator suitable for the manufacture and dispensing of Ga-68 based radiopharmaceuticals and with the potential to label other medical isotopes, such as Lutetium-177 (Lu-177).
