Description of the procurement:
For operational tasks in the context of its responsibilities under Chapter VII of the EURATOM Treaty, the European Commission utilises various seal types in nuclear installations across the European Union. The current tender concerns COBRA (FBOS) seals. The units are also used in inspections run jointly with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

COBRA (FBOS) seals have been in common use by the Commission and the IAEA for many years. The COBRA (FBOS) is a passive sealing device that uses a multi-core Fiber-Optic seal cable that is terminated in-situ to produce a unique signature. This unique signature is photographed, stored and used as a reference to verify the seal has remained un-tampered when compared to a new image taken in-situ.

All components must be of the highest quality as they are Safeguards Critical Components.
