This beamline is the only instrument on ASTRID2 that is placed on a multipole wiggler, providing high-intensity soft X-ray photons. The new analyzer will replace a more than 20 year old spectrometer that is currently the most severe bottleneck in achieving high-performance X-ray photoemission spectroscopy (XPS) on this beamline.
