The Directorate general for energy, Radiation protection and nuclear safety unit (ENER D.3), is responsible for the radiological emergency preparedness arrangements within the European Commission. An important part of these arrangements is the ability to quickly assess possible radiological emergency or emergency threat situations and advise other European Commission services on their seriousness, possible future development and any possible European Community action required.

Description of the procurement:
The Directorate general for energy, Radiation protection and nuclear safety unit (ENER D.3), is responsible for the radiological emergency preparedness arrangements within the European Commission. An important part of these arrangements is the ability to quickly assess possible radiological emergency or emergency threat situations and advise other European Commission services on their seriousness, possible future development and any possible European Community action required.

The aim of this contract is to provide additional support to the ENER D.3 emergency team during radiological emergencies. The Unit intends to establish a strong support link between the ENER D.3 emergency team and a leading radiological emergency preparedness organisation, “the contractor”. The "main tasks execution phase", during which this support may be activated, is of 36 months duration starting on 1.4.2019. The support is intended to be activated at any time and maintained on a continuous i.e. 24/24h basis during an emergency.
