Le marché implique au minimum les activités suivantes:

1) effectuer une évaluation des risques suivant ISO 14121 parties 1 et 2;

2) réduire les risques conformément à ISO 12100 parties 1 et 2;

3) évaluer si les mesures de sécurité originales des machines qui font partie de l'installation sont bien suffisantes;

4) diviser l'installation en zones de tâche;

5) réduire les risques en concertation avec l'utilisateur et les fournisseurs des machines;

6) évaluer tous les aspects techniques;

7) contrôler et/ou effectuer des calculs SIL ou PL;

8) développer de nouvelles informations sur l'installation à l'intention de l'utilisateur;

9. établir un dossier de construction technique;

10) valider un projet final;

11) rédiger une déclaration de conformité et placer une petite plaque avec marquage CE sur l'installation assemblée.
