The University of Oslo, c/o the Chemical Institute, plans to establish a laboratory for radioactive trace elements in Oslo (PRO). The laboratory will offer high quality equipment in one installation to make radioactive marked molecules available for researchers in the Oslo area. Radioactive marked pharmaceutical elements and tested medical products will be produced with the aim of carrying out pre-clinical research for use in positron emission tomography (PET). Instrumentation for synthesis of radioactive marked elements in automated procedures. Carbon-11 and fluoride-18 will mainly be used as the radioactive elements.
