Short description:
The ISIS Injection Dipole power supply, based at UKRI STFC, will be replaced in 2018/19. At the same time, the opportunity will be taken to replace the magnet cable. The cable will carry a pulse of up to 15 kA for a maximum of 550 μs + 2 × 100 μs quarter sinewave rising and falling edges, repeated at 50 Hz. The new cable will be based on the existing cable but will require an additional armour layer to provide mechanical protection against objects that puncture the sheath from making contact with the outer conductor. A total of 2,4 km of cable is required. The route from power supply to magnet is approximately 80 m. The cable will be delivered on 4 drums, with 600 m on each. Please refer to the specification document for further information. Delivery of the cable to UKRI STFC RAL must be completed within 5 months of contract commencement.

Description of the procurement:
All submissions will be assessed in accordance with the Public Contracts Regulations 2015, for procurement values that exceed Regulation 5 (Threshold amounts). This procurement will be managed electronically via the crown commercial service’s e-Sourcing Suite.
