Short description of the contract or purchase(s):
The objective of the procurement is to cover Forsvaret's [the Norwegian Armed Forces’] need for personal protective masks, including filters, that provide satisfactory protection for all personal that participate in operations where there is a danger for contact with CBRN hazardous materials. This also includes respiratory protective equipment for specialists where normal protective masks do not provide satisfactory protection. Please refer to ‘Instructions to Candidates (ITC)’ with attachment for more information.

Total quantity or scope:
The estimated number of personal protective masks for the Norwegian Armed Forces is from approx. 75 000 — 90 000 in total. The number of filters is 2 per mask in addition to filters for 2 years use. Protective masks for CBRN specialists accounts for a smaller portion of the contract scope (approx. 1 %). Politiets fellestjenester [the Norwegian Police Shared Services], Direktoratet for samfunssikkerhet og beredskap [The Norwegian Directorate for Civil Protection (DSB)] and Nasjonalt behandlingssenter for CBRNe medicine has the option to purchase protective masks via contract for a combined estimated number of approx. 20 000 — 25 000. The Ministry of Defence and subordinate agencies have the right to utilise the contract at all times. We emphasise that the estimated number is only an approximation, and can change due to changes in need or allocations. The procurement is planned to be executed over four years, but this plan can change.
