Short description:
Development, manufacturing, installation and commissioning of the Power Supply system for the magnetic coils and additional heating systems of the Compass-U tokamak. The system should consist of flywheel generator/-s (> 420 MJ[JH1]), transformers, all necessary auxiliary and protective systems, real time control, 200 kA thyristor converter for the Toroidal Field coil and 12-15 IGBT H-bridge converters with current rating up to 50 kA and voltage rating up to 800/1 100 VDC (load/no load) for the Poloidal field coils.

The system should utilise existing components from the currently operated Power Supply system: 1) 2 flywheel generators, each 50 MVA, each 40 MJ, 65-85 Hz, 6 kV output, 2) high voltage switches, 3) transformers and 4) [JH2] thyristor converter modules (26x 6 kA in pulsed operation)
